What a good resume PDF needs
A resume PDF should be readable by a person and usable by applicant tracking systems. That means conventional section labels, a simple layout, selectable text, and a review step before you submit. Export workflow
- Choose a Markdown resume theme and review the live preview.
- Set paper size and margins in the workspace. Use the page-break guides to spot awkward splits before printing.
- Open Save PDF, choose your browser’s PDF destination, and keep the intended paper size and layout selected.
- Open the saved file and confirm headings, bullets, links, dates, and page breaks are readable.
Check the exported document, not just the preview
Before using any resume, select text in the PDF, search for a heading, and make sure important bullets did not split in an unhelpful place. Do not promise that any layout will guarantee ATS performance: the goal is a clean, conventional document that makes your real experience easy to parse and review.
Keep a source you can update
